CONSULTANCY FOR CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS
CULTURAL CONSULTANT TO THE SINGAPORE EMBASSY IN FRANCE
Appointed Cultural Consultant to the Singapore Embassy in France by the Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth from April 2018 to March 2019, Charlene Lim was given the mission to promote Singapore arts & culture in France. Highlights include the inaugural Urban Art Singapore - an immersive & multi-disciplinary celebration of Singapore’s urban culture, which took place in Paris from 1st to 17th February, in collaboration with Urban Art Fair. DANCE THE DREAM - THE DREAM AT 50
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech, Charlene collaborated as Associate Producer with New York-based producer Richard Karz on “Dance the Dream” - The Dream at 50 - a series of dance and music celebrations across the globe. Highlights include the dance flashmobs in London (choreographed by Jenna Lee) and in Paris (choreographed by Mourad Merzouki) in partnership with SOS Racisme - an anti-racism NGO based in Paris.
INTERNATIONAL THEATRE INSTITUTE ITI
Charlene was consulting for the UNESCO-founded NGO International Theatre Institute ITI from 2010 to 2014, leading on several major projects including the 50th anniversary of World Theatre Day with John Malkovich and the 30th anniversary of International Theatre Day with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, as well as initiating and developing artistic, cultural and corporate partnerships for the institution across the globe.

SWANNING AROUND - ENGLISH NATIONAL BALLET
Charlene was appointed by English National Ballet ENB as their Asia Project Consultant from 2019 to 2010 for Swanning Around - a dance cultural exchange and education project - a highlight of the UK Pavilion Day at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. Led by the ENB, in collaboration with the Royal Albert Hall, WebPlay, British Council, National Ballet of China, Shanghai Ballet, Hong Kong Ballet, and artists from the UK and China, and performed by 130 students from China and the UK, Swanning Around won the Outstanding Performance Award at the Shanghai World Expo. A reimagining of “Swan Lake” featuring original choreography from both countries, Swanning Around was conceived by Fleur Derbyshire-Fox (Director of Engagment, ENB) with Artistic Direction by Laura Todd and choreography for the ensemble sections by Jenna Lee.
