Soumik Datta presents “A space to be: a musical celebration of Edmund de Waal's 'library of exile'“ at the British Museum, 18h00 GMT on the British Museum YouTube Channel.

Designed by de Waal as a 'space to sit and read and be', the library of exile serves as the inspiration for original musical responses created by sarod maestro Soumik Datta, singer-songwriter Amahla, UK-born rubab virtuoso Saphwat Simab and Tanzanian-British saxophonist Yasmin Ogilvie.

This event is presented in collaboration with English PEN(Opens in new window), Soumik Datta Arts(Opens in new window) and the United Nations Regional Information Centre(Opens in new window).
