Friedemann Vogel appointed jury member for the 2022 Prix de Lausanne
The prestigious Prix de Lausanne has announced their illustrious jury panel for 2022, which includes the international ballet star and a former prize winner himself, Friedemann Vogel.
“Winning the Prix de Lausanne is without a doubt a major milestone. In fact, for me, even just participating in the competition was life-changing; as a young dancer, it was very eye-opening to encounter different dancers from around the world, and it really prepared me for a career in our highly demanding art form. Over the years, many participants of the Prix have gone on to achieve great things in dance, so I believe not only does it serve as a prestigious validation, but an incomparable early-career boost that motivates you to never stop reaching for new heights.
It is an incredible honour to be invited to be on the Jury panel, and especially poignant this year, considering how we are still learning to live with a pandemic, which has so deeply impacted the performing arts. To have this amazing opportunity to champion and hopefully inspire a new generation of young dancers at close range, as they embark on their careers at this very difficult moment, is both a responsibility that I take seriously and an experience that I know I will cherish.”
